Vodacom
Dropping calls, no service signal, no service

Telecommunications

Past 3 months I keep on losing signal, data extremely slow & phone show no service. Have to reboot it to get any signal. Vodacom originally installed a antenna for data, so I phoned them. They suggested rebooting phone & modem, disconnecting all (aerial, sim & battery), then restart. Did that, but aerial connector, (SMA type which onto the router) pulled out. After rebooting I still have same results. Vodacom logged a call and tech came to visit. Meanwhile I took the connector to get it fixed. Visited Scoop, RF Designs and Zak Speed - all of them give same feedback - cable used is incorrect, RG6 co-axial which is used for DSTV installations. The SMA connector that was crimped does not fit properly, as centre wire is to thick, thus creating a bad aerial connection. The Vodacom tech said signal is jumping all over the place, gave me ref no. S3-TTJ2R-RN1VA & said installation team will contact me for repairs to aerial connection & fit extra aerial to improve phone reception. No feedback for a week, phoned again, got informed Wallied Brown closed refernce as resolved, as they plan to put up new Vodacom aerial in Milnerton, but don't have any idea when
