Telkom ADSL poor service - ref- AH20130613-62491

I have opted for an all-inclusive bundle package with Afrihost, where I have selected a 10mbps package. I have however never received such speed, My line syncs to a maximum of around 3mbps, which is still very unstable. A fault was opened with Telkom (ref AH20130613-62491). Unfortunately, I got the pathetic excuse from them that ADSL is a best effort service, and that I am too far away from the exchange, so, I will never be able to get a 10mbps service. Instead, I have to wait for the MSAN upgrades, and they cannot say when this will happen!! I work from home and not having fast internet service is crippling my productivity! Telkom is pathetic. You guys are crippling the economy with your poor service and lack of options. What can I do now? I am willing to pay for higher speeds but looks as though I have no option but to move my premises to an area closer to a Telkom exchange, or, I need to wait indefinitely until Telkom decides to upgrade me to the MSAN infrastructure. Is this what Telkom is trying to tell me? I wish more than anything that we had proper alternatives to Telkom in this country. Telkom- STOP GIVING ME EXCUSES AND START SHOWING SOME INITIATIVE TO RESOLVE MY PROBLEM!
