Vodacom
Added charge on a data contract

Telecommunications

I purchased a data contract with Vodacom sometime in July 2012. The data deal was a 3 gig promotion including a B683 wifi router at 199 rand per month (24 months).

This month (May) I decided to look closely as to where I spend my money. I was shocked to notice that Vodacom had been debiting an extra surcharge of 120 rand from my account as part of the data deal. This extra charge is described as 3g laptop installment on the invoice. I never received a laptop in the beginning when my router was delivered for the 199 rand promotion data deal.

I have since got hold of the customer care department who told me that they can not help me. They transferred me to the after sales department who could also not help me. The after sales department handed the matter to fulfilment@rewards department.

I am now into my second week without help as to why an extra amount is being debited from my account without me receiving the indicated laptop on the invoice. This is really frustrating because when you are a new customer, Vodacom are so eager to help you and get you on their books. Beyond that it seems like they just do not care as long as they get the money from you!
