I bought a CELL C HSUPA MF190 usb modem from a local cellphone shop, as well as a CELL C sim card and loaded 1GB data bundle on it, so that I can connect to the internet with my new laptop. Imagine my suprise when after the installation I was unable to connect as the app on my laptop indicated that there is NO COVERAGE/SIGNAL! I battled for 2 hours last night, phoning the Technical Helpdesk call centre and trying to sort this out. All I was told, is that they do not know why my modem does not pick up signal, and that if it is because of the problem they are experiencing with their towers, it would only be sorted out end June! This afternoon, I phoned Hatfield Cell C & asked them if I can bring in my laptop and modem so that they can check what the problem is and why it does not want to connect. I was told by Unathi (or Lathi) that they don't have technicians there so they cannot help me, & I need to phone the CELL C Technical helpdesk. So now I am sitting with a useless modem (which cost me R500) and pathetic client service! I demand either my money back and refund for the data I bought, or that the problem get sorted out this week still! I am put off CELL C & wish I had opted for Vodacom!
