Canceled my contract but I am still being BIlled!!

In August 2012 I contacted Virgin mobile to cancel my cellphone contract (becasue the rates were too high!
I was advisd of the amount payable and requested that they bill me, and my debit order would take care of the transaction. The contract was due to terminate October 2012. However VM continues to charge the excessive rates and is still billing me in terms of the contract, which has been cancelled!!!
