I have recently returned to SA and despite my wife's concerns about signing to 'SA's newest network' I thought 8ta's SIM only 'SmartPlan' offered great value. Which it does if things actually worked. Here are my problems:

- I use an iPhone 4. I cannot reliably send/receive SMSs which is a very basic service in my opinion. First I was told this was a problem with 061 numbers and now I am told it is a problem with iPhone 5s (PLEASE NOTE 8TA, I DO NOT HAVE AN IPHONE 5)
- Reception in my area (Milnerton) is very poor regardless of whether I am using 8ta or MTN as my network provider. Calls cut out etc. Again a very basic service
- My wife is Swiss. We are unable to send international SMSs nor make international calls. I was told this was because my R5000 credit limit was activated but not working. No solution has been found.

I have tried to be patient with 8ta but I feel like giving up. To cancel my contracts (SIM only) will cost R800 for each number but I refuse to spend that money to cancel a service that is not working and providing the service advertised. I feel like just cancelling the direct debit and letting them chase me.
