Why the hard sell?

I just called the Telkom ADSL help line (which may just be their general call centre) and clearly their agents have been briefed to sell a specific package at all costs. The agent I spoke to was trying so hard to sell me a specific package that she was incapable of answering the simplest questions - the answers to which were quite essential to putting me in a position to evaluate the very package she was trying to sell me.

Perhaps the link on their website should change from "For assistance call..." to "If you want to be talked at call..."

Your call centre is there for service first. Without that they won't sell a thing. Consider that when you devise their incentives.
