I planned to freeze my life membership contract with Virgin Active as I was moving overseas. I spoke to the manager Saadiqah Osman who asked me to freeze for 3 months and thereafter, I would have to call and refreeze for another 3 months. Saadiqah said she would send me an email confirming this which I did not receive. After I moved over seas, I checked my bank account and noticed Virgin Active charged me R 436.36 on 1st February 2013. I called Saadiqah Osman to tell her that I was not supposed to be charged such a large amount and that since I have moved overseas, I would like to cancel my contract. Saadiqah said that she will check with the accounts department to see if they can refund me the amount charged. She also assured me that i will receive an email confirming my cancellation of the contract. I did not recieve any email from her and on the 1st of March 2013, I was billed AGAIN for R 439.00. I called Saadiqah Osman asking her about this extra charge and about the email which I had not received. She said she sent me the email and she will send it again. On 30 March 2013 I was charged AGAIN an amount of R160.97. Still no emails and numerous phone calls which cost me alot!
