Collections Call more than 3 year late

Late in 2012 possibly November or december I received call with regards to an amount owing for a contract which expired May 2009. Apparently i had 2 RD in 2009. I have NEVER received any notification of this amount and my bank account has not changed since 1996 when i first opened my bank account. i advised the caller that i have NEVER been contact with regards to this debt and if i am correct if no contact was made for 3 years the debt can not be collected any more. I also requested a copy of my contract and why my account was not debited no answer or proof of contract received. i received a call monthly and still asked the contract and advised of the 3 year period. This morning i received a call and was advised she spoke to management and they feel i have to pay. i asked if management is aware if the 3 year period and she said she thinks so. I asked for management t call me by no later than 11am this morning 4 April 2013 and almost 1 hour and 30 minutes later still not call. From May/June/ July 2009 until November 2012 NO NOTIFICATION WAS RECEIVED this is a MINIMUM of 3 years and 3 Months yet i am still getting a call for this. is Planet Fitness is financial difficulty?
