This is not the first complaint I have with Planet Fitness Customer Service. I have now chosen to state it on hello Peter.

My 3 yr contract came to an end a few months ago and now continues on a month to month basis. I filled in a cancellation request on 3 Feb 2013 at the Fourways club. My home club is Wanderers but I moved and no longer go there very often. The lady who helped me at Fourways said she would fax through the cancellation request to Wanderer's.

I have phoned Fourways twice since then to follow up and to date no one can confirm to me whether my cancellation has taken effect. The people I speak to promise to get back to me, but noone does. I then emailed planet fitness and got a response from someone who asked me to send through a cancellation request. I attached my cancellation request copy as proof and stated that since I asked to cancel on 3 Feb I would be unwilling to pay for yet another month's gym fees as my notice period should end early March. He replied by saying "In the absence of proof the notice period will start today" (28 Feb 2013).

Why should I have to pay for an extra month's gym fees due to the incompetence of the gym staff? Unacceptable.
