On 19/12/2013 I put my things in the changeroom locker & locked the padlock. I returned later to unlock the padlock; my cellphone & wallet had been. I was shown by gym staff how the locker could be opened with the locked padlock on. I was told that the gym is aware of this issue & is in a process of replacing them but only in 2014. The gym directs its members to lock their property in the lockers. I was showed that the locker I used is defective & so members' property in this locker even if padlocked is not secure. I believe that the gym is negligent in having a locker (s) that can't be locked securely & is grossly negligent in knowing about the problem & not immediately fixing it &/or not warning members about the risk so that members make an informed decision about leaving their property in the lockers. I am aware of similar cases happening to other members at this gym. I lodged a claim against the gym's insurers & it was declined; they dispute they are negligent. I'm angry the gym is not taking responsibility for my loss & seemingly doing nothing to help members keep their property secure.
