Haven't cancelled my contract, no response

I moved from Johannesburg and therefore needed to cancel my gym contract. I had taken out a 1 year contract and had a few months left, so they informed me that I needed to pay a cancellation fee.
I was fine with that, and was asked to fill out a form giving my details and reason for cancelling my contract.
I was told that someone would get hold of me WITHIN THE NEXT 3 HOURS to tell me the amount that I needed to pay. Needless to say, a week went by and no one got hold of me.
So I went in a second time and went through the whole process again, and was told the same thing. Another week has gone by, still nothing and they have still billed me for the previous month.
I'm completely disgusted, how unprofessional can you be?
