Contract finished but still debiting

I had a one year contract with virgin active and on the last month of my contract I notified that I will no longer be using they service and I cant afford it due to other commitments. They even offered me two months free afterwards which I didnt even make use of. So after my contract was over the following month they took a debit again which I was upset about Cos I clearly told them i can not go forward with another contract. So with me needing the money I returned to the debit back to my account. After a few months now I went to take out a loan and I could not take it because they handed it over to ITC. I am completely displeased and of because I am a good payer and never miss my debits.
