Gym Contract Cancellation

In Jan 2005 i joined the plattekloof planet fitness and after my 24 months cancelled the contract. So to my surprise when i called this week 11.11.2013 to want to become a member they said i still owe then R645.00 and its in 1095 days so need to pay first, no one can tell me why since i cancelled and even the page they emailed me says "package cancelled" Very disappointed, i have never received any form of communication of letters or accounts in the post and its now 2013. So much for joining now and also wont but what a bad record for me, unacceptable.
