My wife went to Virgin on Thurs 24 Oct, spoke to Laura and the membership manager, Stanley Makwara. She explained that she was an adult dependant on her father's Discovery plan and not eligible for 80% discount but only 50%. Laura also explained this to Stanley. They gave a written quote of R566, 80/month for both of us. We spoke and agreed to return that evening. Upon arrival we found that Laura had been taken ill and gone home. We dealt with another consultant who stated that the price was only possible if she was the main member. He called Stanley, who denied that my wife had told him that she was an adult dependant and implied that she had been lying. I became angry but tried to stay polite. Trying to catch us out, Stanley told the consultant to phone Laura to check my wife's story. Laura confirmed what my wife had said, stating that she had also told him. Stanley apologised, and promised to phone my wife the next day. He did, offering her R648/month. She was not happy. He said he'd phone her later that day with a better deal. He phoned on Monday, saying that he couldn't do anything. He was unhelpful and saw nothing wrong with breaking his promise to phone back on Friday.
