Wanted to join in Octobe

Before i had signed up for a membership on the 26th of September 2013, I had asked when will Virgin Active offer the bag promotion. The sales assistant had indicated that he doesnt know and that it wont be anytime soon but was very keen on signing me on just so that he could get his commission.
I check the website today and guess what, it says the bag promotion starts on 1 October 2013!
If i had known this, I would have waited for 4 more days seeing as though I did not start working out as yet.
This is really unfair, how could he lie? Just so that he could make a sale?
It is not acceptable of him to do this.
