Over chage members when they want to cancel

My Daughter is 12 years old and slim not over weight. I send her to become 'n member at Curves with the knowledge that they know what they are doing. They let me sign the contract, so I thought she can work out on the machines and she are doing the Zumba. after 1 month she explain to me that she cant work out on the machines because she is to small and buddle to operate them. I phone the owner and explain she told me i have to pay for the month August and then i can cancel the contract and it Will cost me more or less R500 and something to cancel, I phone there head office and the lady told me i just have to pay the cancellation fee its what the contract said. I personally think they should explain to her and me before they let her become a member. to me it seems this is a nice money making operation.
