No loyalty, no customer service, don't care

First time that I am posting something on HelloPeter. I was so disappointed in the way that the reception staff at my gym - Virgin Active in Groenkloof, treated me today that I felt compelled to write a complaint about it. I have been a member at this gym for years now. I have recommended them to colleagues of mine who have since become members and I even train once a week with a personal trainer there. So, I have given and continue to give this gym a lot of business and referrals. Today, my regular squash buddy couldn't make it, so I invited another colleague of mine from work to come play with me. The reception staff refused to let this friend of mine into the gym and despite all of my loyalty to them over the years, wouldn't make an exception for me, this one time. Come on people!! What part of good customer service don't you understand?! This colleague of mine could - and would have probably become a new member. Instead we were turned away (like dogs) and I had to go play squash at Harlequins club. Who, btw, had zero issues with me playing there. Even though I am not a member. No loyalty, no customer service, don't care attitude, that's what I get in return.
