Tag Ownership

I got a black tag contract at planet fitness where my mom is the second person on my contract. i am leaving for Johannesburg and all i want to do is give her my tag. i will still be paying it and it will still stay in my name. now they told me at Aurora that i MUST change the ownership and it will cost me about R2 200.00. i dont even owe planet fitness that much. and why must i pay in if i just want to give her my tag but i am still responsible for the payments? atleast i am being honest by saying what i wanne do.
can someone please assist with this, cause this is not customer service.
