I want to cancel the contract

I have been trying to cancell a contract with Body lab but all I am getting is stories.
When I told the manager that i wanted to cancel he told me to bring the cancellation fee of R250.
I gave him the money and when i went to collect the reciept he told me to come back the next day, but when i went again he had gone to fix his car problem so i told him since we keep missing each other he must leave it with the receptionist. Up until this second the contract is stil running even though i had stoped going to tgeir gym. yesterday out of the blue he said he has handed over my contract to the auditors. i mean he told me he had cancelled it and all i had to do id=s pick up the reciept.
What legal actions can i do to get this contract cancelled as in yesterday???
