A friendly person contacted me, but did not resolve the problem. The harassment has resumed. After being a loyal customer for 20 years, Edgars suddenly decided to randomly debit my account with an unauthorised lump sum of R18, 000, (over twice the spending limit on the account) in July 2012. Obviously I could not & did not spend R18, 000 with Edgars in one month or @ any time! I queried this in writing repeatedly. Edgars Customer Experience promised to finally resolve this issue. Instead they resume harassing me with calls & sms for this spurious amount which is UNDER DISPUTE; & each time I repeat it is under query & dispute, ask it to be escalated (again), and then wait for the next call, like a broken record. Despite it being under dispute, they also reflect non-payment of THEIR unexplained debit on my credit record which is blatantly unfair & in violation of the National Credit Act AND Consumer Protection Act, AND Financial Services Act (which I now have a copies of). With ABSA shares I now require the Company Secretary of Absa (who took over Edgars accounts) to include this issue in the Annual Financial Statement Sustainabiility Repoort & I wish to query it at the AGM.
