Damaged Goods and unfriendly service

On Saturday 13/04/2013 we bought a generic PS2 controller and a Space sword for our boys. We got home only to find that neither of the items work. The space sword had batteries in them but they were so old, the fluid was leaking all over the sword and the connections were rusted. The controller just didn't work at all. Both items were on sale but when we called the store to let them know, all that was said was: Take it to Reggies in Promenade Mall" (we stay in Mitchells Plain). Isn't it bad enough that the items were not working, irrespective if it was sale items but to unfriendly on top of it. Not a " Oops sorry, or we apologise or anything like that". It's really sad to think that you have such unfriendly staff working at your store.
