Account was closed yet still reflects on credit bu

In january 2011 I closed my edgars account at the enquiries section at cape gate mall. I was assured by the consultant that it was closed. However recently I applied for a loan and it indicated that edgars is still on my credit record as a creditor. Why is it still reflecting? I closed my woolworths, truworths and foschini and they don't even reflect. This is causing it to look as though I have many creditors when I don't. Please help me sort out this problem so that future applications will not be jeopardized...
