I am very upset by the fact that Edcon has failed to protect me as a customer against purchases on my account, through bad customer service and mismanagement of documentation that was submitted.
In December 2012 I noted that someone had been making purchases of over the air airtime on my account. This was reported to customer service staff at the call centre that failed to provide me with the necessary steps of actions, I had experienced the same from in store staff at the Bay Side Mall. The consultant was Claude. After having to speak to multiple people I was only informed as to what documents to complete in February. I then did what was necessary and submitted dispute documents to the Bay Side branch with Claude the in store service agent. He assured me that the dispute that I lodged will be sorted out in two weeks time. I gave the dispute office a call today to check the status and they said that they had no record of the dispute. This is unsatisfactory. I had done all I needed to do and over a month later nothing has been done on their part. Now I have to sit with a bad credit record due to their negligence of Edcon staff.
