Denied the serving of a brew just after 20:00

I am a regular at Seattle Brooklyn and Menlyn, so much that most of the personnel remember by order. On Saturday just after 20:00, I took my family to Seattle. The personnel denied to make brews for us, we ordered 3 brews. I understand that making a fresh pot so late will result in some wasted product, but surely if brews are requested it cannot be denied?
