Awful, Cheap Advertising

I fail to comprehend why a multinational company feels they do not need to spend money on creating proper advertising in SA. perhaps in Europe, where their ads are created, people don't feel offended by the banality of their television ads, but personally I feel some of their ads simply insult the my intelligence. A bunch of scientists in lab coasts 'testing' a washing powder by running around on a kids playground? Really? Soap manufacturers - yet again in lab coats - taking a helicopter ride to a forest to hold up a cake of soap? Not to mention the highly annoying ice-cream ads which were all done on a shoestring budget.

I have stopped buying all these products out of my own little protest against this apparent lack of interest in the local consumer. I suggest to Uniliver they start investing in creation of decent, intelligent, localised dvertisements (as their competitors do). In the meantime, I'll simply switch channels whenever their mindless, irritating ads are on air.
