Unclear comunication on specials

I went to checkers springs to buy powder soap, chicken braai packs and some other items which are (were) on special. most of the time when i got there, there were no stock, i was not worried because i thought i went there late on those days. on Sunday the 28 of September, since i was off duty i went there early in the morning, that day the soap was there but other items was out of stock. i took some powder soap but when i wanted to pay i was told that i can only buy 3. i said i saw other customers buying more than 3 but i was told that i can only buy more than 3 if i buy other products, but most of the items that i wanted was out of stock. my main problem is the communication, they should have mentioned in the advert about the number of items allowed to buy or even in the shop to avoid any arguments with the tellers because they are also doing their jobs.
