Good day
Something for all you shoppers to be aware off especially when purschasing meat products. I am linked with pick n pay cause they are linked with medical aid.
I normaly just purchase my cereals n salad and frozen stuff from them. On Saturday I went in to get a few stuff and walked by the fridge. I saw they had neatly packed and marinated chicken quarters at a very nice price. The sizes where of reasonable size and ranged from R7 upwards and the expire date was even dated for March. I thought about it and after a little while I selected 4 trays. I paid and with half an hour I was home I immediatly put in fridge due to heat.
Yesterday being sunday I opened up each pack to mix the marinate all over and put in the oven, as I opened it I got a funny smell I said maybe its just the smell of they marinate so I added my own spices and garnish and kept in fridge for a while I still could get the smell. So I said let me put in oven maybe chicken won't be bad its just the marinate. Afta some time from being in the oven I took it out and took a piece to taste it was tasting horrible. I had broken 1 and inside was turning colour.
I had phoned in the store and mentioned to manager.
