Not notified about account

I went to foschini today to buy on my account. When at desk to pay the lady told me she cannot sell me anything on my accont. When I asked her why she told me she doesnot know she just works there. I received a statement through he post that said I could buy for R3000 . I would lik to know why was I not notfied about the change of my account and why is your staff unable to answer the questions that is asked, giving me an answer of " I just work here." is unacceptable. And why cannot the client be notified about there account changes. And why is the statement send with the wrong info on it
