It's been 2 months since my mom got injured at Shoprite and it's the first time that we have received a call. I was shocked at the manner in which Dean Olwage, the assistant Manager of Client Services handled my query. He spoke over me and wouldn't let me explain my side. He said no one will help me as this is their process. He said Shoprite will not be held liable for what happened to my mom. Their broker (a 3rd party) will investigate the matter and decide whether they will refund my mom's doctors bills or not. I am disgusted that Shoprite won't take responsibility for what happened at their branch and passing the buck to a different company. Dean refused to offer an apology and refused to get the head of Client Services Rita Van Wyk to call me back. He didn't try to understand the pain my mom has to deal with every day. I hope that everyone out there sees that no one at Shoprite cares about customers, not even management.
