What the happened to the store?

I got an absolute shock when I walked through the Edgars store in Adderley street this past week. What a sad stroll that was! A store that once shined is now worse then a cheap Chinese store. I remember back in the mid 90s when you first moved into the old Stuttafords building from the Strand concourse the store was absolutely a masterpiece representing your flagship store in Cape Town!
Now? Lift broken, escalators broken ALL OF THEM, finishings are fallen apart, dirty floors, the bathroom and bedroom section is a disgrace with a bed sitting in the middle and shoved all to a little corner with a few items - terrible presentation skills. That bargain floor is the worse looking like a dumping ground, the Red square... no comment! If you remember what it was and you walk through there now... YOU WILL BE SHOCKED!
