Previously Opened Laptop unit sold as New

I bought a Lenovo Notebook in May 2012, and now a year later, the screen does not function properly. Of course just 1.5 weeks after the warranty expires. After speaking to the store, I learnt that I needed to pay R450 non refundable deposit for a quote. Not to be further ripped off, I found a Lenovo certified technician who was happy to the work for me. When he started opening the Notebook, in my presence, he said to me that it seemed that the Notebook was previously opened. I told him that that was impossible cos the machine was always in my possession and never went in for repairs. He pointed out that there were 2 screws missing from the front where he opened the screen. He continued and as he opened the screen completely, he said to me that it was DEFINITELY opened before, and worked on, because the foil had been torn on the left corner. On the same corner, he pointed out, the bracket that holds the screen had been broken off completely and no longer serves it's purpose as it's completely broken. I called the store to complain and spoke to Nomvelo, only to be told that that was not possible and there was nothing that could be done. Now I know why it's called INCREDIBLE CORRUPTION by many.
