Park Village Auctions
Auction deposit not refunded

Shops, Products, Services

I registered for an online with Park Village Auctioneers (PVA) on 07 October 2013. I paid the registration deposit of R20000 by credit card. I could not make the viewing of the vehicles which was from 14 to 16 October. I spoke to the auction contact person Devon Le Roux requesting a possible viewing of the units before the online auction finished at 14H00 on the 17 October. He advised that this was not possible due to safety regulations. So I used the information supplied on the auction Venu Roll to make my bid offers on the units I liked.
When I inspected the vehicles that I had won on auction, I discovered that in addition to the vehicles being non-runners, they all had integral components like engines, gearboxes etc missing and stripped. The information on the auction vendu roll did state the vehicles as non-runners, but did not state that the vehicles were stripped and missing components. I informed Devon about this who advised that we should have viewed the vehicles before bidding.
I asked for a reduction in the prices, but this was refused.
I therefore informed PVA that I would not pay for the vehicles because of being misled by false advertising on their Auction Vendu Roll.
