My fiance and I visited Arthur Kaplan Jewellers as we were shopping for his wedding band. Upon entering the store, we were served by a somewhat reluctant Mariska. We requested to view 2 rings that interested us simultaneously so that we could compare then. Mariska rudely insisted we only view one. After relenting, she claimed that my fiance would 'scratch the rings against each other", despite them being in far proximity! I then requested a quotation for both a white gold and platinum band, to which she rudely barked that we 'shouldn't bother as platinum is 3 times the price'. This was highly offensive as she intimated we couldn't afford the purchase and were wasting her time. Mariska had a zero sales ethic and was incredibly lazy and offensive. The other staff in the store merely looked on without intervening until we requested a manager, who was unavailable. Mariska offered no apology despite us highlighting her poor behavior and she maintained her superior attitude. This was the WORST service I've ever received, especially from a jewellery store when I would likely be spending a fair sum of money. Will spread the word! Disgusting.
