BETTER THE PRICE

So i was in the market for a fridge and game had offered a samsung dbl door which is what i sought. another supplier offered the same product for almost R1k less. the fridge at game was R8497.00. the other supplier offered it at R8000.00. i approached the store and the manger Keegan advised that Game will only better the price on certain conditions and clearance saes are not included. the offer from the other supplier was on a clearance sale. i was very disappoined as being a customer i am not privy to the conditions applied when a price is negotiated to be beat. Can anyone advise if this is good practice and where are these conditions published for public knowledge.
