Constant calls to pay an account

My mother had a account where she bought a lounge suite which the store had to take back because it had factory faults and discontinued. As a result of this they had to refund her money back after a long struggle.

Now they are constantly calling her saying that she owes the store the exact same amount that they paid to her as a refund. When she receives these call she will explain that she doesn't owe the store and explain what has happened. The person who called will then say ok, let me go investigate and I will come back to you. Then the person will disappear and then few weeks later another person will call and the same will happen again.

This people they sometimes threaten my mother by saying she will be handed over to credit bureau.

Last week she received a call again and later a letter by post.

If this continue it means her name will be falsely handed to credit bureau and jeopardise her credit status.

So I urge the store to rectify this with immediate effect and give her something in writing indicating that the problem has been rectified.
