Await payment of refund after purchase was returne

During Desember 2012 I bought a pair of shoes from Shoe City Atterbury via DEBIT CARD!! After trying on the shoes at home, I realise that it was too small. I took it back on 27 December 2012 and was apparently "refunded". I received a till slip with the words "Customer Copy Refund" thereon, but however was confused because 1. I paid with debit card en 2. the cashier did not even ask fgor my banking details. I have never heard of refunding a person without banking details??? When I asked about it, the cashier assured me that the money is paid into my bank account and that the transaction will show in my account within 48 hours. Needless to say, to date I never received any refund whatsoever. I wonder, is this is now a new method of?
