No stock of newly promoted item

I received the Makro advert earlier this morning with the weekly local newspaper. As I've been looking for a pair of shoes and they had a special on Bronx shoes, I decided to get a pair.
When I got to Makro, I was disappointed to see that they did not have any stock of my size (plenty of the other more common sizes). The shelves were neatly packed - so there was no sign of a mad rush which would have depleated the stock. There were no shop attendants to ask if they had any in the back room.
I left the shop disappointed, empty handed and with the feeling that I had just wasted over an hour of my life chasing something that possibly never existed.
