Client refuses refund after purchase of shoe

I have purchased a pair of boots from this retail outlet and only to finout it is the wrong size. When i went back to the shop to have them replaced I could not find the right fit and let alone other options, The shop has told me that they cannot refund me and now I am stuck with a pair of shoes that do not fit me. They do not have any stock on a similar product and they are unsure of when their new stock is comming but non of this should be my problem.
