Misrepresentation to Purchase Product

We purchased a small corner unit "leather couch" called The Loft from Coricraft 4 years ago for R10, 000.00 as we had just purchased our first new home being a loft apartment. I raised the issue of the couch pealing with Coricraft approximately 4 - 6 months ago and was informed that the couch which was purchased as a 100% leather couch was in fact stripped leather with a polyurethane cover. This particular couch was advertised under the "leather couch" section of their website at the time of purchase and their floor salesman informed us that it was indeed a 100% leather couch thus purchasing the couch on this basis. We would in no way pay R10, 000.00 for a stripped leather couch with a polyurethane covering and therefore we were mislead with regard to the purchase and quality of the couch. In my view, and having taken legal advice, this was an intentional misrepresentation inducing us to purchase a "leather couch". I got a quote to have the couch re-upholstered in fabric at a cost of R7500.00 as the couch is deteriorating at such a rapid rate it is unable to be repaired. A leather couch should not have such a short life span. I will never give Coricraft another cent!
