Big Blue
Children not welcome?

Shops, Products, Services

I visited Big Blue, Clearwater Mall on Saturday 2 February 2013 at app 14h00 with my two children aged 9 and and 6 years. I was in the store less than two minutes when I was approched by the manager with the words: "control your children and they are not allowed to touch anything" Shocked by this, since my boy of six was right next to me and my girl of 9 years was putting a small tin back on a table that she was considering to buy as a gift for a friend, I left the store immediatly.
I decided to return to the store a while later to tell the manager exactly how insulted I felt about the whole episode. He replied that children should have manners. I asked him if he was implying that my children do not have manners. His responce was that it is a matter of opinion, and that if I am going to make a scene in his shop he will get security to remove me. I shop with my kids on a regular basis, they know they know how to behave.
They were not disturbing other customers, running around, eating or drinking or breaking things. I have never been so ill treated or insulted. I visited 3 other shops in Clearwater Mall before I went to Big Blue with no problems.
