New Defy DDW173 not working

I purchased a new Defy dishwasher for the household. Did the pre... salt and rinse before first wash. We have used it 3 times to be to the exact number. The dishwasher will not end its cycle... tried the instructions... press on/off switch for 3 sec to end... still nothing, it continues running. All I want is the dishwasher to be replaced... I'm not going down a road where we head off with a machine that already gives problems from the onset!
