What's the point of a kiosk?

What is the point of a kiosk if the customer is going to be told that the person operating at the kiosk is not available, I mean, is only one person trained to operate the kiosk. This is the indicant that I experienced at our local Shoprite in Thokoza Eastrand. I had only two items on me that i needed to purchase and I was told with a bad attitude that the lady who works at the kiosk is running late, and I had to join the queue at the other tellers to which I had to wait in line for something like 20-30mins.

I believe that this is totally unacceptable and something should be done about the poor/bad service that the ladies at the Shoprite give to customers.
I hope this really gets looked into.
