Edcon's call centre is pathetic

I walked into Edgars Canal Walk with the intention of reinstating my Edgars account. the sales asssistant advised me that I have an invitation to rejoin & that I should speak to the consultants at Customer services. They told me to contact their head office 0860112442 to update my details then come back in store to collect my card. Easy as pie right? WRONG! called their call centre & spoke to someone who had no idea of what they were doing, in my opinion. I understand the importance of data protection but to be asked my ID number a total of 5 times raises alarm bells. Never the less, after being put on hold and going through the app, the agent informed me that it's a Jet account. Why she didn't tell me that in the first place will forever remain a mystery. I told her to leave it.went back to Edgars& they contacted the call centre again.was advised to go to Jet, open the acct&Edgars will transfer my details onto their books. Bottomline, the call centre does not communicate with each other.ended up talking to someone telephonically, AGAIN! Edcon should consider training their staff in customer services. I have wasted 3 days on openin an acct.? & they don't think it important to call me? Thanks Edcon
