Poor customer service- Perfume counte

I purchased Gucci GUILTY perfume for my husband on his birthday.which is today. It was purchased on Monday and he opened it this morning and said it cannot be a male fragrance because it was too floral.
I was assisted at by the sales person at N1 and told her I am buying it for my husband and I asked her if the black bottle I had in my hand was a male perfume and she said YES. She in fact went back to the shelf and confirmed it. The packaging is black and looks male so I was convinced. I could not smell it myself because I dont have the ability to smell as well as most do. I asked if eau de toilette is for men too and she said yes.
I went back today, and especially took off from work because I wanted to make sure he gets his gift this evening, and the customer service lady on duty just said, she cant help me because it was opened and they cannot take back opened perfume. She will speak to the Store manager. No one asked my number or my account details or anything. Of course he opened the perfume because it was supposed to be his gift!! how else would we have know??

N1 City always seems to have insufficient staff on their floor and the staff who don't have product knowledge.
