Bed finally arrives but given to another customer!

On Monday, 18 November we went to House and Home Fleurdal to look for a bed. The bed we decided on was on special, but the assistant informed us there was no stock and that head office would not be sending any more stock to this branch. However, he said that he would search in the surrounding provinces and would call us if he found one. We said that we wanted to pay for the bed in advance, but was told not to as the assistant first wanted to make sure the bed was in good condition. We were grateful for the call informing us one more bed was found in Kimberley and if they could fill the load the bed was on it's way.

Today, 25 November at 09:30 we received a phone call stating that the bed was delivered and was ready for collection. We arranged to pick the bed up at 12:00. At 10:15 we received another phone call informing us that the bed was given to another customer who wanted a bed immediately and couldn't wait. When confronting the manager with this, he told us that paying customers get preference and as we have not paid we are not considered customers.

I cannot believe that we have been treated this way! I will never set foot in that shop again.
