I visited Miladys Sanlam Centre this afternoon. I made inquiry with the store supervisor on account opening and was told the protocols to follow. I had my ID with me and was asked to register when ready as I was still browsing through the sales items. I identified a white jean but they did not have my size in store. I took it to the pay point and requested assistance in identifying which store had my size. The assistant looked on their system and i was informed they had one in stock at Tygervalley. She called the branch and passed the phone to another sales assistant to confirm if the item was available. I patiently waited as she conversed with Tygervalley. On completion of the call, I excitedly inquired whether the trouser was available and received a rude shock when she felt the need to rectify my pronunciation by telling me it was not "trouser, it was trouser". She spoke with such malice and pride and I immediately condemned her lack of ethical behavior as I was not there to receive English lessons, I was a customer and deserved to be treated with respect and I did not appreciate her attitude. A detailed report on Ms. Nolita Ntumi will be sent to Head Office.
