Stuck with a toy that is not what we wanted

In December we bought a Disney Dancing Princess 4 in 1 activity ride on for my daughter's first bday party 26th Jan 2013. The sales person said that that the car was steerable and I specifically asked if you can turn the wheels with the handle at the back. He said yes and that it was the best one as it is a 4 in one! Her party was the past weekend. She and her dad open the presents and assembled the toy.By the time I realized that the toy is not exactly what we wanted to buy they had already taken a few spins around the yard with great effort. The ride on can not be steered or turn from the back. So basically I am stuck with a car that can go forward and backwards. This is very upsetting as I specifically asked it it can be steered from the back and that the handle can turn and control the wheels. The wheels can hardly turn even with the steering wheel! I am very disappointed that the sales person don't know their product. I am now stuck with a R600 toy that will just take up space. I don't know what to do now! I have wasted R600. I don't even know it they will take it back now!!! Please advice accordingly
