Refusing service due to credit card swipe fees

Astonished that such a large and well known brand such as Tops Spar at Ridge Terrace Weltevreden Park just refused me service due to me wanting to pay with my credit card. The man at the teller started passing comments to his colleague and did not want to put through the payment because in his words it was small and I should not be paying for it with a card. I am not sure if such behavior is representative of the whole Tops Spar brand but surely insulting and belittling your clients is not the way to run your business. Needless to say i will never be going there again and I wish them lots of luck with their business in the future with such a "winning" attitude. I however went down the road to The Liquour Boys and spent my money there.
