We bought an LG 42inch tv on a special for R5499 (wasR7000) in May. Openend it in August, watched tv maybe for 1 month, then the screen went. Took back to Makro and requested that we do not want a repaired tv, but a new one as it was still brand new. Makro then wanted to give us back our money as they did not have any stock anymore. We custom made a tv cabinet over R7000 for this 42inc and could not buy any other size. Camilla wanted to sell the last DEMO (which was standing on the rack for 2months already) to us, for R6000k.
In the end we did not want that TV as we wanted a new one for the price we paid on special and they did not do anything else to assist us. Their attitude was not great and I feel we were treated badly - selling us a demo tv for more than the price we paid for ours is just not good enough. I will never buy any special deals from Makro again, seem like the duts or demos are the things you end up with. What would you have done if you were the customer? Surely we paid R5500 for a R7k valued TV! We should then be getting a R7k tv on special or not, dont we??? Not our problem if stock is finished, we were sold a dut!
